| Purpose: Make an item suitable for auction
at One Special Christmas. Materials/Techniques: The desk and stool were crafted from solid Black Cherry. Mortise and Tenon joints were used for the base and the stool while the top and bottom of the desk were jointed with biscuit splines. The frame for the top is mitered and splined at the corners. The pigeon holes inside the desk are fabricated of cherry veneer and may be removed. Finish: Cherry stain and hand rubbed tung oil. Year of construction: 1994 |

Note of Interest: One of the nine original Townsend - Goddard desks sold at auction in 1989 for $12.1M, the highest price ever paid for an American made item of furniture. |

| Purpose: To craft a desk inspired by a piece
attributed to John Cogswell of Boston cira 1770-1785 Materials/Techniques: The primary wood is mahogany and the secondary woods are popular and white pine. The desk features ball and claw feet and Bomb's sides sculpted from a single solid mahogany plank. Drawer sides confirm to the curve of the sides and are dovetailed. The piece includes ten hidden drawers. Size: 48"wx96"hx24"d |
